Das Duo ist überzeugt, dass durch persönliche Verbindungen und den musikalischen Austausch unter Gleichgesinnten das Feiern und Respektieren des vielfältigen musikalischen Traditionen sowohl die persönliche Identität als auch das Gefühl der globalen Verbundenheit in einer zunehmend gespaltenen Welt stärken kann.

„Slow Touring” – Durch ihre Tandem-Fahrrad-Musik-Touren verbinden sie Menschen, Dörfer und Städte geografisch, musikalisch und kulturell und setzen sich zusätzlich für einen ökologischen Ansatz beim Touren und im Leben ein. Von großen Festivalbühnen bis hin zu ihrem selbst organisierten Couch Festival im ländlichen Bayern nutzt das Duo Storytelling und musikethnologische Hintergrundinformationen, um eine Brücke zwischen Tradition und Gegenwart zu schlagen. Benannt nach ihren zwei widerstandsfähigen Großtanten, zelebriert Tante Friedl die Kraft des kulturellen Erbes und erweitert zugleich die Grenzen globaler Folkmusik.

The duo is convinced that through personal connection and peer-led musical exchange, celebrating and respecting the diverse musical heritages can strengthen both personal identity and a sense of global kinship in an increasingly divided world.

From big festival stages to their self-organized Couch Festival in rural Bavaria, the duo uses storytelling and musicology to bridge the gap between tradition and modern times. Named after two resilient great-aunts, Tante Friedl celebrates the strength of heritage while pushing the boundaries of global folk.
