Im Zentrum steht der griechische Rembetiko – so etwas wie der „griechische Blues“, die ausdrucksstarke urbane Volksmusik vor allem aus Athen/Piräus und Thessaloniki der 1920er und 1930er. Dazu kommen traditionelle und neuere Lieder und Tanzmusik aus Griechenland, Eigenkompositionen und auch Einsprengsel aus anderen Folk-Traditionen. Und viel Spielfreude und Sponaneität.

EN The focus is on Greek rembetiko – something akin to ‘Greek blues’, the expressive urban folk music primarily from Athens/Piraeus and Thessaloniki in the 1920s and 1930s. This is complemented by traditional and more recent songs and dance music from Greece, original compositions, and touches of other folk traditions. And plenty of enthusiasm and spontaneity.
