Gespielt wird zunächst mal überlieferte Tanzboden- und Wirtshausmusik in bester schwäbisch-bairischer Tradition: Boarischer, Landler, Schottisch, Halbwalzer, Zwiefacher, … alles sehr fein musiziert und arrangiert für die nicht alltägliche Besetzung Klarinette, Geige (früher Akkordeon), Harfe, diatonisches Hackbrett und Kontrabass. Sie entdecken und spielen gerne miteinander Stücke aus allen Himmelsrichtungen, probieren vieles aus und feiern und essen nicht zuletzt auch gerne miteinander.

Es sind Angela Hofgärtner (Harfe), Erich Hofgärtner (Hackbrett), Rita Brunner (Violine), Hartmut Betz (Klarinette, Bassklarinette und Sopransaxophon) und Hannes Schmauch (Kontrabass), sie bilden zusammen die Hofmarkmusik. Überall, wo Menschen neugierig auf die Musik und das Leben anderer Menschen sind und wo sie zusammen nachdenkliche, fröhliche, tänzerische und ruhige Musik machen, ist Bunteland. Where is Bunteland? Bunteland lies between Finland and Sweden to the north, Argentina to the west, Israel to the east and France to the south. The musical and geographical heart of Bunteland lies almost exactly at the point where Swabia, Franconia and Upper Bavaria meet. This is also where musicians regularly gather, curious to explore the music of their own regions and that of Bunteland as a whole. The music played is primarily traditional dance hall and tavern music in the finest Swabian-Bavarian tradition: Boarischer, Landler, Schottisch, Halbwalzer, Zwiefacher, … all beautifully performed and arranged for the unusual line-up of clarinet, violin (formerly accordion), harp, diatonic dulcimer and double bass. They enjoy discovering and playing pieces from all corners of the world together, trying out all sorts of things, and, last but not least, they love to celebrate and eat together.

The members are Angela Hofgärtner (harp), Erich Hofgärtner (hammered dulcimer), Rita Brunner (violin), Hartmut Betz (clarinet, bass clarinet and soprano saxophone) and Hannes Schmauch (double bass); together they form Hofmarkmusik. Wherever people are curious about the music and lives of others, and wherever they come together to make thoughtful, cheerful, danceable and tranquil music, that is Bunteland.
